"Sea-Ex?You're going to a Sex Expo?", asked a friend when I told him where I'll be heading this Friday.

I'm not surprised. Even I was clueless what it was all about until Pamela Cortez, editor of The Navigator, invited me to this event. Sea-Ex stands for Sea Expo and in simple terms, is an event that showcases the nautical lifestyle. Since 2009, it has gathered boating, marine and watersports enterprises in one exposition that has pleased those who love to explore the seas.

So what can one expect at Sea-Ex? Aside from different exhibitors, there are various festive activities such as sunset cruises, live band performances, DJs, mini-regatta and cocktails. More importantly, the organizers of Sea-Ex recognize the importance of marine conservation so there are features on caring for the marine environment on The Navigator (Sea-Ex's official magazine, look for my article!) and a booth on Save The Philippine Marine Wildlife courtesy of Marine Wildlife Watch Philippines, Physalus, Dolphins Love Freedom and Save the Philippine Seas.

The Sea-Ex is from March 2 to 4,  10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at One Esplanade, Pasay City (near SM Mall of Asia). And if you're visiting the expo for the first time,  take note: As much as it's fun to come in the morning because there are only a few visitors and you could take all the photos you want,  the more exciting activities are scheduled late in the afternoon! You'll also get to enjoy the spectacular view of the  Manila Bay sunset.
