#FriFotos: A Luxury That Can Cause a Heart Attack

Today's #Frifotos is about luxury. Merriam-Webster defines luxury as something that adds pleasure or comfort, but not absolutely necessary. Fashion icon Coco Chanel seems to support this definition by saying that "Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury." Others believe luxury is an indulgence, something that is desirable, yet difficult to obtain. If I go by the last definition, then I consider this one a luxury:

Ilocos Bagnet from Saramsam Cafe

Meet the Bagnet, a regional food from Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur of the Philippines. This is something that I don't get to enjoy when I'm in Manila or anywhere else (Others are poor imitation!). The bagnet of Ilocos is prepared by placing fresh pork meat under the sun for an hour. Afterwards, it's chopped and cooked in a briskly boiling lard. At a latter time, a bit of water is sprinkled in to blister the skin. The result?  A crisp, golden brown, sinful pork dish with a crunchy top, a meat so tasty you wouldn't mind eating all the fat! Dip a piece into sukang Iloko (vinegar) or a relish made of tomatoes, onions, ginger and bagoong, and you'll find your taste buds desiring for more. Not recommended for those with high cholesterol levels - it might induce a heart attack!

What do you consider as a luxury?
