Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Philippine Holidays and Special Days for 2012

Christmas Day 2012 is on a Tuesday!
[UPDATE*] It looks like Filipinos will have lots of time to travel especially this August. The Philippine government has already announced that Eid al Fitr or the End of Ramadan will be observed on August 20 (Monday) while Eid al Adha (Monday).  August 21 (Tuesday) is also a holiday in honor of  Ninoy Aquino. That means 4 days (Saturday to Tuesday) free of work and school! In addition, August 27 (Monday) is National Heroes Day. Thus, those planning a weekend getaway on the 25th can stay a little longer in their travel destination.

Note: If you have a Gmail account, you can check this calendar which includes major Philippine Festivals: Rain's Travels Calendar

Expect a long vacation during Lent
and Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9).
Some may be disappointed though that December 24 (the day before Christmas) is (still) not included in the list of holidays. Let's hope that the Philippine Government changes its mind soon. Take note, too, that one can enjoy a long vacation on the last week of October until the first week of  November. See the schedule below:
