Just a few more days and it's Halloween! For those living in the Philippines, that means a 4-day long weekend to spend time with family and friends and remember the departed. Before everyone heads out of town, here are some spooky and fun things to do in the city with kids (and the kids at heart!) :

Watching a 3D movie isn't the only way to spend Halloween

On October 29 and 30, wear a Halloween costume then head to the Ayala Museum in Greenbelt,  Dela Rosa St., Makati City, and you can enter the museum for free! Yes, its free, and the kids at heart wearing Halloween costumes are welcome, too! This special treat from Ayala Museum is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Free entrance to the Museum!

For an exciting trick or treat, scary stories, and a buffet of snacks, go to the Dusit Thani Hotel at Ayala Center, Makati City.   The spooktacular event is on  October 30, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Don't forget to wear your scary costume on the day itself! Tickets (PhP 800/person) must be purchased ahead of time at the Restaurant Reservation Desk located at the hotel's lobby. Call 238-8888 for details.

Dusit's Fiesta San Miguel will transform into a
scary forest for Halloween.

Prefer to spend Halloween inside an amusement park? Prepare to be spooked at Star City's Spooktober Halloween on October 29. Kids 12 years old and below in Halloween costumes will get 50% off from their regular Ride-All-You Can Pop Tag. Kids can also join the Halloween Costume Contest for a chance to win prizes. Registration for the contest is on the day itself, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. only. Star City is located within the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay City.

For those who want to go trick or treat with friends from under the sea, go to the Manila Ocean Park on October 29, 1 p.m., for a Mystical Halloween Experience. If you have kids age 3 to 12 years old, they can join the Mystical Costume Contest as well for a chance to win exciting prizes. See the details here. The Manila Ocean Park is located at the back of Quirino Grandstand, along Manila Bay. By the way, the Musical Fountain Show has resumed so better catch this show while you're there!

And if you're in the south, join the Creep-tacular Halloween Forest Party at the Acacia Hotel in Filinvest Corporate City,  Alabang City, Muntinlupa. The party is on October 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A magic show, games, kiddie snack buffet, and raffle prizes await all guests. Dress up in your best costume because a best costume award will be given to children and adults. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Concierge Desk of the hotel. (Ticket price: PhP 700/person).

Remember, there are a lot of fun places to visit this Halloween other than the mall!  Happy Halloween to all the kids and the young at heart!
